Testing scientific plinthipauls

Hi, I'm Paul. Through this site, during the first half of August 2009, people submitted suggestions for short experiments they would like to see carried out on the plinth, and voted for their favourites.

On Tuesday 18 August 2009 at 12.00 noon BST, I took my place for an hour on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, as part of Antony Gormley’s One & Other installation. I then performed as many of the suggested experiments that had been given four or more votes as I could squeeze in to an hour!

You can watch my hour on the plinth on the One & Other web site here. The more people click to watch it on 19/20 August, the more chance there is I'll be featured on Sky Arts' highlights TV show on Friday 21 August at 8pm!

I will publish the results of the experiments on their pages soon. In the mean time don't forget you can also follow the project's progress (and soon my post-plinthing thoughts) via the PlinthiPaul blog.

Here's the latest four experiments. Click here to view more experiment ideas.
