Method
Place a small square of foil on a corner of the plinth (say 30cm sq) with slightly upturned edges. Place a thermometer next to the foil. Break an egg onto the foil. Leave it until the hour is nearly up and inspect temperature and egg. If edible, eat it!

Result type: An edible fried egg with no visible runny bits.

Estimated minutes taken: 1

Possible during bad weather: no

Comments and predictions

Could this experiment be expanded with some kind of magnifying glass apparatus?

Would it be more or less likely to fry if it had some sort of covering, such as a pyrex/glass bowl upturned?

... And what kind of egg? Perhaps you could test with a quail's egg, a small free range egg and the largest egg you can find?
